Sailing is a sport with a long history. In fact, the America's Cup race dates back to 1851, when the schooner America from New York defeated the Royal Yacht of England. Now, Olympic sailor Sir Ben Ainslie is looking to bring the trophy back to Britain—and Land Rover wants to help.
Last month, Ainslie announced that Land Rover is now officially the exclusive innovation partner of BAR, or Ben Ainslie Racing. In The Telegraph, Ainslie said of the partnership, "Land Rover is, of course, a fantastic brand and the perfect partner for the team. It is British, hugely respected around the world and has a [well-founded] reputation both for innovation and strength. The only problem is that with 80-odd staff at the team there may be an unseemly scramble as we all try to get our hands on a car."
